Stories about two autistic first graders, told with humor, heart, and the kind of quiet truth that only kids really know.
Meet Santi — exuberant, sensory-seeking, hands flapping with every big feeling. And his best friend Zane — thoughtful, sensory-cautious, ponytail swaying as he moves carefully through a world that's often too loud.
Together they navigate friendship, school, family, and the everyday extraordinary. A pantry trail becomes a parade. A ruined drawing becomes a battle scar. Two completely different conversations become the most complete connection of all.
These are stories for the kids who see the world a little sideways — and for everyone who loves them.

— a note from the author
I write children's books as Evelyn Ann, in honor of my grandmother, who first nudged me toward writing for young readers more than two decades ago.
Years ago, when my son was diagnosed with autism, I went looking for something, anything that sounded like him — not about him, but like him. I found manuals. Checklists. There were some inspirational tales about overcoming or accepting the hand that fate dealt out. What I couldn't find were stories where neurodivergent kids got to just be — funny, stubborn, sensitive, brilliant kids living fully in their own rhythms.
The Santi's Way series is the result. These are stories for kids like mine, written from inside the experience — sensory, specific, and true. A pantry full of snacks becomes a parade. A meltdown becomes resilience. A ponytail stays long because that's its own kind of brave.
Outside of writing for children, I bring more than twenty years of professional communications experience and a lifetime of believing that the truest stories are the quiet ones — the ones that don't shout, but are somehow the loudest and stay with you the longest.
with love, — Evelyn Ann
